Which One Are You?

Some people water, some people plant, but we all have one goal.

Dear Friends,

On this last day of March, I know, for many, spring is in the air: a time for planning and planting; a time for new life and new growth. As I write this update, this scripture is on my mind from 1 Corinthians 1:6-9. Paul says:

“I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow… He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

Never before has this scripture been so real here in Bulike and Buluya. We are just coming out of a rainy season that was preceded by a severe drought. The rain has cooled the land, and we are thankful, but it has also washed away trees and destroyed houses. I’m sharing this because…

A few years ago, everything would have been washed away, but thanks to UCSS partners, progress has been made and lives and lands were saved.

A few years ago, neighbors would have kept to themselves, fending only for themselves, but thanks to UCSS partners, the love of God is bringing them together.

A few years ago, these same people who did not know each other in the same community or even care about their neighbors…

Are Now… these same people are working together, replanting, rebuilding, and rejoicing together! They are developing not only closer relationships with God, but also with one another! THIS is progress, and it would not be happening without all of you, my friends, partners, and prayer warriors.

This spring, we thank God for you for making it possible for us to plant thousands of trees that hold our soil in place and promote the overall growth and health of our land. We thank God for you who have dug wells and helped with irrigation that kept our crops from being completely destroyed. Some have planted. Some have watered, and God has brought holistic growth to our communities.

This would not be happening without all of you, my friends, partners, and prayer warriors.

Let me invite you to prayerfully consider helping us continue this progress by joining with me in our plans for more wells and more agricultural advances. We can’t do this without you, our fellow workers, and whether you are one who wants to plant or one who wants to water, you are building life-giving communities from which God is building His kingdom. I hope you will follow the links below and help UCSS continue Growing for Good.

Your Brother in Christ,
Ronald…
