Giving Gifts to Your Student

Whether you’re a sponsor or just have a heart for kids, there are ways to support our students in Uganda! Giving gifts to your student is a beautiful way to show care. However, there are many challenges when the recipient is overseas. Not only is it costly to send gifts to Uganda, but we also saw that gifts given with a genuine heart unintentionally made other students feel excluded. Our heart for giving gifts through UCSS is to make every student feel equally loved and valued. Especially in this current climate where the coronavirus is physically separating people, we are seeking ways to increase unity.

In response to these challenges, our Student Sponsorship team here at UCSS is creating various opportunities to give gifts to students while still valuing each child. The campaigns below are intentionally designed to meet the specific needs of our schools and students. If you’re a sponsor, your gift will go directly to your student’s class or school on your behalf. If you’re not a sponsor, you can still bless these students by giving a gift to the entire school or a class of your choosing.

Farm Animals

Cost: $60 per goat, $180 per cow

Purchase a farm animal for a student’s class! During quarantine, our teachers care for the animals. When the school opens again, the class will learn to care for them as well. Milk from these animals blesses the students both now and in the future!

Shoes for Students

Purchased 677 pairs of shoes!

New shoes not only help our students feel better, they also keep them healthier and happier. Many of our students walk long distances to and from school and around town and a new pair of shoes is a big blessing. Each pair of shoes helps a student live a better life.

Motorbikes

Purchased Four Motorbikes for Teachers in 2020

Give a teacher the gift of transportation. Motorbikes help teachers travel to students during the current quarantine season where school is one-on-one. These bikes will also benefit teachers when schools reopen, allowing them to get to and from school efficiently.
