Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
Psalm 127:3-5
Dear Friends,
The part of this scripture that says children are like “…arrows in the hand of a warrior…” resonated with me as I prepared this update. The children you see in this video, and all the children God is sending to UCSS, are these arrows and they all are in a battle: a battle for their hearts and minds, their futures, their eternities. But! UCSS is the warrior in whose hands God has placed them, and we will train them to fly straight.
You could say, we are adding to our UCSS quiver! God has opened a door of opportunity for the purchase of a school in the village of Nakalama, a neighboring village between Kampala and Bulike. The school had been struggling and hundreds of students were afraid they would have no place to go. Families and students were crushed as were their dreams of a better future.
With much prayer and council, we knew this was the next step for our Education Ministry. What the enemy tried to kill, steal, and destroy, God is replacing with life, and that more abundantly. These children are ready to get back to learning and growing, not only in education, but also in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is the bedrock of all that we do.
In closing, I invite you to pray with us as we continue this journey of transformation, taking the love of God to the remote villages of Eastern Uganda. Would you ask the Lord how you might be a part of our new school endeavor as we transform a generation of youth to be the future of a better Uganda? I will provide more updates soon. In the meantime, let’s pray together for the families of Nakalama and all that God has in store for us.
