Dear Friends,
You may have heard the phrase Christmas in July, and I hear there is an American television channel that is featuring Christmas movies all this month! They do this because it is usually very hot at this time, and perhaps this will take one’s mind off the heat.
In that vein, I am coming to you today with my own Thanksgiving in July because a day does not go by that I do not thank God for you. It is because of your prayers and support that we are able to continue this battle against the forces of darkness that do not turn off the heat, no matter the season. I am so thankful for all who faithfully sponsor our students to give them hope for a better future, for all who generously give to the digging of wells so that water borne diseases are stopped, for all who sacrificially share to empower our women with skills, for all who dig deep to give toward our agricultural training so that families become self-sufficient…and so much more; where would we be without you?!
Knowing the answer, I still offer up to God, questions: “Lord, how is it you are bringing about this transformation in Bulike right before my eyes, and how is it that our UCSS partners are so kind?" I also ask the Father, “How will we be able to go forward in the face of such opposition and obstacles?" His answer is this: And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work (2 Cor. 9:8).
Finally, know that I believe in his sufficiency, and I also believe you want to know where the greatest need is in this work. As I said in the last email, “the heat is on" financially this summer, more so than in previous summers. Because I know that you know the heart of this ministry, I humbly ask that you would pray about helping uscontinue to abound in every good work this summer by making a special Christmas in July General Fund donation.
In closing, as you listen to Edisa tell her story, may you be assured that the work of UCSS is going forward by God’s grace; lives are being changed and God’s kingdom is being built. Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do to make this possible. I’m looking forward to seeing you in the fall, and I’d love to hear from you as we begin working on my schedule. May his face shine upon you and give you peace.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and financial support.
Your brother in Christ…
Ronald
