An Update from Ronah

Now more than ever, your investment of hope into communities in Uganda, is making big progress possible.

Dear Friends,

I am so glad to come to you today to let you know that last month we celebrated evangelistic, door-to-door visits and many baptisms. Not only that, UCSS continues to reach out in different areas: in our farms, by digging wells, and in our clinics which provides not only physical but also spiritual healing. This is God’s unique way of using this ministry; through UCSS the whole person is renewed through our holistic approach.

At the same time, there is still so much to be done. Not everyone knows the love of Christ; there’s still lots of children we need to reach, lots of families who need to have clean water and knowledge of farm activities. Yet! We celebrate our student dorm construction and structures for our churches, and finally, prospects of counseling centers are on the horizon. We celebrate growth.

One department’s win is another’s win. Likewise, when one struggles, all struggle. Let me share with you one young man’s struggle. I was driving with “John”, a young man who has been abandoned, first by his father, and now by his mother, but not just him, two brothers 9 and 13, and an 8-year-old sister also. Before UCSS, there would have been no hope for him, no opportunity, no place for them to run to. Thanks to you, our partners, friends, and sponsors, we are saving a generation from the hopelessness that was Bulike and Buluya.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up … Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

What you do when you stand with us creates hope and opportunity for students abandoned by mom and dad. You are helping make it possible that these lives are not lost when parents split and the child is left with no one, no education, and no home. We have made June a month of fasting and prayer. I invite you to please pray with us. This is much bigger than we are, much weightier than we can imagine; impossible on our own.

My friend, we feel your prayers, and we thank you for all you’ve done through the years. If you haven’t already, though, we need you now more than ever to become a UCSS Lifer, a partner who gives monthly in support of day-to-day operations. We also need solar panels for our schools and medical facility. We have three, one for each school and for the health center, but they do not last long resulting in power outages – the worst being in the medical clinic while patients are receiving care.

Thank you for reading this lengthy email. Summer months are our hardest, and I know you will pray with me. May God richly bless you and keep you safe. You can reply to this email, and I will respond as well.

Thank You!

Ronah…
