Dear Friends,
Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? Here in Uganda, especially in these remote villages, if someone struggles in this area, it is often not talked about, all-the-while the person suffers alone in so many other areas of their life. In light of this, I wanted to share with you how UCSS partners have made our Counseling (Mental Health) Ministry an integral part of what we are doing in Bulike, Buluya, and beyond.
When a spirit of heaviness comes on a person, the word of God says to put on a “garment of praise” which turns our thoughts to the God who changes our hearts and keeps our minds in Christ Jesus. For those who do not have this hope, the heaviness is often more than they can bear, and as you see in this video, the lie of despair is the only voice they hear.
What if you could help save a family like the one here in the neighboring village of Nansololo? What if you could save the children from being orphans because their parents felt there was no way out? While May is Mental Health
Is this an area of ministry you feel passionate about? I understand if it is not, and that is okay. We are looking to find sponsors for every ministry of UCSS, but this week, may this speak to the heart of those who have compassion on this often invisible, not easily spoken about, area of need.
It is my prayer that you will join me in praying for our Mental Health Facilitators – our counselors – and even more so that God will send partners to stand with them with monthly giving as a UCSS Counseling Ministry Sponsor.
Together, we are transforming Uganda one village, one soul at a time! Thank you for being here.
God’s Continued Blessings,
