New Year. New Story.
“In the scroll of the book, it is written of Me – to do Your will, O God.” Deuteronomy 31:24-26
Dear Friends,
I chose the above scripture for our New Year’s inspiration because I believe God is the one writing this UCSS story, and He is not done yet.
These past two years, if I may continue using the “elements of a good story” analogy, could be called the “rising action”. Since the pandemic, we have been faced with seemingly impossible challenges, one after another, only to have friends like you rise to that challenge by letting the pen of the Holy Spirit write on your hearts, a solution as each need arose throughout the year. The only word to describe 2021 for the families of Bulike and Buluya and the ministry of UCSS, is miraculous. You are part of that miracle.
Now, as we work toward the “resolution” – the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the lives of the people of Uganda – I invite you to pray with me and the families here for God’s direction for the next chapter, the next decade. We are writing the outlines and making plans, but we also know that it is God who will make them succeed.
As I reflect on His goodness, I know that UCSS has remained because we are supported and surrounded by those who, as the opening scripture says, desire to do the will of God. Here in Uganda, we spent the last day of 2021 praying for you and for God’s will for the future. He is coming soon, but we will work until He comes, and I am so glad to be working alongside you. May God richly bless you and your family in this new year.
