Dear Friends,
Glory to God, my friend! The vision of UCSS is being brought to pass thanks to friends like you. What you see in this slideshow is youth who, only a few years ago, had no hope, and this is not just cliché’- there was no hope for a future other than living day to day to try and find water and forage for something to eat.
There were no schools to go to, and witch doctors and men of ill-repute waited along the overgrown paths for unsuspecting children to use in sacrifice and molestation. It was as horrible as it sounds. Sickness nearly always led to death, and here in Bulike and surrounding villages of rural, Eastern Uganda, despair was king.
But Now Jesus is King!
Yes, we continue to battle the darkness as we take this message of hope to every family we can. It is only with your help that this is possible! God chose us and not someone else for this hour, so when you see this transformation, see yourself as part of the solution. Partnering with UCSS in prayer and support changes lives!
April is for Agriculture, and as you can see, it is one of our greatest means of self-sustainability. It is feeding our students; they see God blessing the work of their hands, and expectation grows. Journey to Hope Gala
| Praise God for an amazing Uganda Counseling and Support Services Gala in Northern Virginia! The UCSS team prayed for the Lord to fill the banquet room with His presence, and He showed up in big ways! Thank you to everyone who made it a night to remember. Our evening began with a beautiful time of special worship music by Cornerstone Chapel and UCSS board members, followed by Dr. Ronald Kaluya who gave a wonderful ministry update on all that is happening in Uganda with UCSS. Not only has UCSS completed its nineteenth church to share the word of God in the villages, but they are also meeting the villagers’ needs in loving and practical ways. UCSS has worked to provide opportunities for education, economic development, mental health services, medical and health services, fresh water, and electricity where there has been none, thereby saving lives. Stella, a UCSS client, gave a moving testimony via a video clip of all that UCSS has done for her and her village. The keynote speaker, Pastor Gary Hamrick, senior pastor of Cornerstone Chapel, gave an inspirational message on the importance of the mission, work, and our Biblical calling to care for others. As part of the gala, a generous donor has offered to match dollar for dollar every donation over $500 up to $30,000! The donor agreed to keep this challenge open until April 22nd. We encourage anyone who would like to be part of this challenge to please consider doing so immediately. Help us to meet this challenge!
