The Compassion of a Father

“As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.”

Psalm 103:13

Like any father, John, in the video above, wanted to provide for his family, but for years the only water he had was the same water that was used by the cows, pigs, and frogs. His and other families were constantly fighting diarrhea and typhoid, and in Bulike and Buluya there was at least one death every day. In a world that is changing daily and often not for the good, not having one’s basic needs met makes life a burden too much for some to bear.

Such was the case for most in Bulike and Buluya 9 years ago before UCSS arrived; hopelessness and fear prevailed.

While progress has been slow, it has been life-changing nonetheless, and with the help of our friends and partners who make it possible, we are praising God for 60 wells serving over 100,000 people every day.

If it were not for these wells, this Covid19 outbreak of 2020 would have been devastating for our people.

This Father’s Day we are thankful to our Heavenly Father who, in his great mercy and love, has raised up a UCSS family from around the world who has wrapped their arms around a people they will never meet this side of heaven. You have given, not just a cup of water in His name, but wells of life-giving water – both natural and spiritual – that are changing lives for all eternity.

There are not sufficient words to express our thanks.

Perhaps you’ll be inspired this Father’s Day knowing that – because of you, your prayers, and support – there are thousands of fathers just like John who are living because of your giving to UCSS. Share this video with your family and friends, and invite them to pray with us that this hope will spread to others here, one village at a time.
