Roots grow deep with UCSS! The agriculture department is growing, you can help them create a good environment for their crops and their community.
Dear Friends,
Let me start off with this scripture:
“For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations” (Isaiah 61:11).
May I say that because of UCSS partners and contributions to agriculture and economic development, righteousness and praise is springing up in Bulike and Buluya, Uganda. Ground that once lay overgrown and useless now produces life-sustaining produce, and where the ground had eroded from rainy season after rainy season, there are now trees that are saving our farms, homes, and lives.
Thanks to you, we are able to continue finding new ways to improve the quality of life for our families. You may have seen the phrase Growing for Good in April my updates, a project to add to our agricultural ministry and economic development departments.
Here are a few things that can help us reach our $35,000 goal by the end of May:
- $100 helps purchase supplies and livestock for economic groups.
- $250 allows us to train five vocational students.
- $500 helps us purchase additional farmland.
- $50 sponsors a trainer for one month.
I started with a scripture, so let me end with one as well:
“Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense” (Proverbs 12:11).
With your help we are training men, women, and youth how to take care of their land, how to grow food for their own use and to sell for income. With your help we are leading them to know the God in whose image they are made. They are no longer following after worthless pursuits because God is revealing to them, their worth.
We know that every project is not for everyone, every time. So, I thank you for being here, for praying for us, and for supporting us as the Lord leads you. May the God of all grace keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus as you pray how we might go forward together.
