Reflections With Ronan

Dear Friends,

To say UCSS is poised for growth would be an understatement. Our need for vocational classes is increasing faster than we can keep up, and I wanted to share with you the reason why.

Many students lost a lot of ground since COVID. Unable to return to classes in a timely manner, they now feel they are too old to go to Primary School, yet they have proven they are talented and able to go forward. We have been able to help a few students begin vocational training, and as you can see in the video, UCSS economic/vocational training changes lives.

So, I am coming to you today to let you know that if we do not increase the opportunity for our youth to thrive in a skill that can sustain them for a lifetime, they will fall into hopelessness: teen pregnancies, alcoholism, and a cycle of poverty that you have helped us break in so many lives. Vocational training grounded in the love of Christ and knowledge of the One who created us is the way forward for our youth.

That is why this year’s UCSS 2023 Fall Vision Summit’s goal is to equip our youth for the future beyond our UCSS Primary and Secondary Schools. We want to provide carpentry and brick-laying skills, as well as other skills that will serve a community. As we reach out Beyond Bulike, these services will flourish as one self-sustaining community helps build another.

I hope you can picture this with me and make plans to attend our 2023 Fall Vision Summit streamed live while Dr. Ronald is in the States. How would you help us this year? We need Church Hosts, Individual Watch Party Hosts, and individuals across the U.S. to join us live on October 8 at 1:00 PM. Let’s change the perspective for our youth from one of “being stuck” to one of opportunity right here in Bulike, Buluya, Nakalama, Nabisiki, and yes, Beyond!

Thank You So Much for Everything,

Ronah
