Pray with Me in 2023!

“God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.”

John Wesley

The above quote aligns with Paul’s words in Philippians that says “… by prayer and petition make our requests known to God…” and we have been aligning our hearts with this scripture every January here in Uganda. This year, 2023, is no different.

We pray, not just for the needs of the families and ministry here, but we also pray for you and all of our UCSS friends and partners. Inevitably, I have someone who will quote the scripture that says God knows what we need before we ask, so why bother with actual prayer lists and prayer meetings?

I, in turn, share with them about the blind man who heard that Jesus was coming down the road, and he cried out for mercy. Interestingly, Jesus asks the blind man “…what is it you would like me to do for you?” Everyone, including the blind man surely thought it was obvious – Jesus surely knew the need at hand. Still, it was necessary for the man to say the need in His presence.

Because Jesus has also told us that if two or more of us will agree concerning any need, in prayer, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven (Matthew 18:19-20), I am sharing with you specific needs that we would love for you to pray with us about over the next week:

  • The complete eradication of pests and diseases on our farms.
  • God’s help for the department to acquire 100 acres of land, which has no contentions.

Jan 12:  Children, Youth, Women & Men

  • More facilitation funds to run the department.
  • Strengthening and extension of sustainability projects.
  • Increased activeness and involvement in community.

Jan 13: Self-Sustainability and Talent Promotion Department – that all sustainability projects to kick off and grow into big projects that can sustain departments.

How much greater will the strength of UCSS be when, not just two, but hundreds of us are agreeing together for the needs of this ministry?

I’ll close with the scripture that says, “And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him” (1 John 5:15). Friend, we are excited about what God has in store for 2023. We are making plans, presenting them to the Father, and hoping that you will join with us in agreement as He directs our steps to see how He leads us forward, together into the new year. I hope to hear from you.

God’s Continued Blessings,

Ronnie
