New Life Comes to the Nana Maternity Ward

New babies are being born at the new Nana Maternity Ward! Join us as we celebrate health!

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Uganda! Knowing that in the States you have just entered the spring season with new life blooming all around, we are so excited to share that new life is also abounding at Nana Health Center as well. Already this year we have had a few babies born in our newly functional maternity ward! This may appear insignificant on the surface – only a few babies -, but when you listen to Rachael share about mothers who can’t make it to a medical facility in time – if at all – it becomes a bit more relevant.

As it is with so many things in these remote villages, any care at all is so far away that both baby and mother often suffer and even die from infection. BUT! Because of UCSS donors, we are well on the way to reducing, if not eradicating, maternal deaths. For instance, we are so thankful for the solar panels we’ve received to help power the clinic, but there are still several limitations preventing us from reaching more patients and saving more lives. This is why we are asking that you prayerfully consider becoming a monthly partner with our medical ministry. I encourage you to watch this week’s video. It was recorded earlier in the year,

and our ward is now open, but you can see how far we’ve come since February and how far we still need to go. There are so many needs here in Bulike and Buluya, and I know that you cannot – nor are you expected to – give to every one of them, but I also know that you will pray and follow the Lord where he leads you.

In closing, let me say even as Jeremiah said, I cannot keep His name and His works silent; it is like fire shut up in my bones! Thus, I share with you what God is doing through your prayers and support. It is because of UCSS donors and partners that lives are being saved and changed forever. We cannot do this without you. May His grace abound toward you and His mercy follow you wherever you go.
