March Update

We are also doing well and God has been gracious to give us rain after a very long drought. People in the villages now are busy looking for seeds to plant as most of them had eaten their seeds due to drought. Last week on Wednesday, we had our second bible study in Buliike. I had also planned to have the eye testing machine you gave to UCSS test all the people who come for the bible study in the morning before the bible study. I therefore borrowed a generator from Kampala to be able to generate power for the use with the eye testing machine. However after reaching Buliike the generator stopped working and we later found out that it was faulty. Since we had informed people about the tests they were all excited and had gathered to have the eyes tests. I tried as much as possible to get it fixed or to hire a generator from the nearby town but all my efforts were in vain We ended up not eye testing the people with the eye machine and we are praying that God can grant us a generator soon for this purpose. We are working with the medical community in this area to plan and start medical clinic twice a week and we hope that during this time the eye testing will go on as planned. Last Wednesday in Buliike village many people were divided between coming for bible study and burial because there were two infant deaths on the village that day because of malaria. I later heard that their deaths were due to lack of treatment for malaria. The saddest thing about it is that treating malaria is less than $5 US dollars and most people in Buliike cannot afford it. Please be in prayer that we are able to identify capable medical workers and infrastructure for this service to be offered as soon as possible because it is highly needed. Peace and Joy,
