Dear Friends,
It is with joy and great hope that I write to you today during this first month of a new decade. While seasons change and time moves on, the vision of UCSS remains fixed: to transform Uganda one village at a time. This great joy and hope that I speak of comes from the promise in Philippians 1:6 which says, “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.” This, my friend, is where my hope comes from.
It’s what we run to in the face of impossibilities. As the scripture says, some trust in chariots and some trust in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God! (Psalm 20:7) We know in our own strength this work would fail, but time and again God shows himself strong on behalf of the families here, letting us know that his plan will prevail. How else do over 600 people from different communities come out for a New Year’s Eve prayer and praise meeting in this remote area to celebrate God’s love?
There were so many testimonies of marriages restored, children coming home, and lives healed because of the UCSS commitment to improve the quality of life for the people here; I had to share with you. Yes. God is completing the work He started, and it is through you that He is doing it. Don’t let distance or difficulty dull the passion for the great commission and that led you to this partnership with UCSS. I believe God hand picks and directs hearts for this purpose.
In closing, may I wish you a Happy New Year once again? May I encourage you, assuring you that your support is making a great difference? Join with me in this new decade and stand strong with me on this vision. Rejoice with us that a generation is being changed, being raised up in the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the love of the Father. We will remain steadfast and committed to honoring your partnership. I hope to hear from you soon as we are already planning our spring visit. May His blessings pursue and overtake you as you walk in faith, believing.
