Once bound by tradition and poverty, women’s lives in Uganda are now being changed, and there’s hope for their future thanks to friends like you who choose to give to UCSS.
One way we are doing this is through economic training, and a game-changer has been the making and selling of crafts.
When our women started, as this video portrays, there were a handful of women. Now, in 2020, we have three women’s economic groups comprised of approximately 150 women per group.
In honor of International Women’s Day, I wanted to share what God is doing in our women’s community. Before UCSS came to Bulike, it was left to the women and children to find water and food for the family. This was their only means of surviving. The majority of men were bound by a cycle of hopelessness and alcohol addiction.
With no means of income, they did what they could from what the land would produce. But, thanks to friends of UCSS like you, the light of the gospel is penetrating the darkness, and hearts and minds are being opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Families are coming together thanks in part to the women who saw hope and went all in for Jesus. He has opened doors of opportunity through our craft ministry for so many..
