In honor of Mother’s Day, we want to share a story. It is a story of love and loss but also of answered prayers and hope.

Dear Friends,
I struggled with the thought of sharing this video today because it is truly a sad story, but then I received the second video below, and it is so encouraging – a true answer to the prayer of Pastor Malijo Edward! Both stories had to be told on this Mother’s Day, 2021.
It is the mother who teaches the children, who loves them all day long, and instills in them what it means to be an individual. Here in Uganda, it is often the woman who leads the household in finding/providing resources to keep the family strong (though this is changing as the gospel continues to reach and change our family structure). This is one reason we are so proud of the progress we are making at Nana Health Center. We have lost so many mommas in and around Bulike and Buluya, but with your help, we are also changing this statistic.
We all need Mothers to be healthy and strong, that is why we opened the Nana Health Center Maternity Ward.
We need our mothers, and we are investing in the women of Uganda through our Women’s Empowerment Ministry. As you gather to celebrate the strong women in your family this weekend, we celebrate with you. Thank you to all the mothers who have stepped up and done what was necessary for the well-being of the family.
In closing, let me also say Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers who have stood by this ministry for so long. Thank you for praying for us. I feel your prayers, and UCSS would not be what it is today without you.
